Parents and Educators-

Is Your Child Getting What She Needs to Flourish?

Relating with your child can be a deeply joyous, fulfilling experience. It can also be challenging, frustrating and painful when your interactions with your child are difficult or you see your child struggling with a behavioral or physical problem. Because being a good parent or educator is so important to you, you may wonder if you’re doing the best you can. (If you are an educator, please go here.)

Our culture doesn’t acknowledge or understand emotions very well. Because of this, your child may be struggling with anxiety, stress and concerns of which you are unaware. He may feel overwhelmed with pressures to succeed and to do things the right way.

What you do today dramatically affects your child and your relationship with your child for the rest of your lives. The actions you take and the words you say have a lasting impact on a child’s future, her feelings about herself and about life, and the ease or difficulty with which she creates a life she loves.

Today’s children are not the same as yesterday’s children. Children born today are much less willing to be compliant. They want the freedom to be who they are and to follow their heart and their passions. This explains why the old ways of doing things (often the way you were raised) and the old structures are not working.

The Real Source of your Child’s Challenges

I have found that the source of most concerns parents have about their child are emotional and spiritual in nature, even the problems that seem to concern a child’s physical health. Parents love their kids, but they get into trouble because the tools they have often focus on the observable behavior and not on emotional, spiritual wholeness.

Emotional, spiritual wholeness is the state of being who you are, listening to yourself and expressing your true self. Wholeness gives you and your child a strong sense of personal identity and confidence and the ability to live life with freedom, clarity, focus, joy and love.

When you learn to observe the signs of how your child is doing emotionally, you powerfully nurture his well-being and awaken his natural desire and ability to grow and flourish. Then parenting becomes an exciting adventure filled with discovery and a heart-felt, joyous connection with your child.

Read the Manual your Child Came With

We wish we could have a manual that tells us what to do, but ultimately supporting children isn’t about saying and doing the right things. I’m not going to tell you what to say and do in any given situation. I want to give you something even more valuable—the way to read what is really happening inside your child and the personal skills to relate lovingly and effectively.

I take the trial and error out of trying to understand what is happening inside your child. You learn how to respond and intervene with insightful awareness, and you fulfill your desire to continuously improve the way you work with your child. When you have an emotionally, spiritually healthy relationship with your child, the challenging times become easier and the good times so much sweeter.

People come to me saying they wish they could get their child to behave, but when I talk with them further what emerges is they really want to enjoy parenting and profoundly yearn to see their child grow and flourish. What I do is teach you a way to find the joy with your child and to empower her to grow on her own without having to work so hard. You relax and have a lot more fun!
